Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) seeks a dynamic, student-centered, and forward-thinking Temporary Admissions Counselor to provide visionary leadership.
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Worldwide Campus is hiring an admissions counselor (temporary role). This position is located at our headquarters in Daytona Beach, Florida.
The Worldwide Campus admissions office handles approximately 17,000 applications annually and more than 30,000 supporting documents annually for 110+ Worldwide and Online campus locations. The admissions counselor is the first point of contact for all applicants and plays a vital role in the overall success and continuing growth of Worldwide. The admissions counselor must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly convey information to applicants, campuses, and other constituents. Independent judgment and decision-making skills are critical for rendering admission decisions.
In this role, the admissions counselor must be quick to learn new systems, to include our Campus Solutions student information system, Imaging System, CRM System, and be proficient in Microsoft Teams. This individual will be trained to process incoming supporting documentation such as postsecondary transcripts, military transcripts, letters of recommendation, application fees, exam scores, and other supporting materials. They will be responsible for updating our student information system with relevant data that allows the documents to be processed. They will help update an applicant’s To Do List, enter education/transcript data, and assign relevant communication. This individual will work with the Senior Admissions Counselors and team of admissions counselors to support application processing.
Responsibilities may also include analyzing applications for accuracy, determining documentation required for admission and evaluation purposes, the ability to read and interpret a wide variety of transcripts and military documentation. The admissions counselor may also be required to communicate with applicants via email, phone and SMS/text message.
The admissions counselor will be trained on university and Worldwide Admissions policies and procedures, Worldwide Campus degree programs, minors, and specializations, as well as different types of credit to include postsecondary coursework, CLEP/DANTES, FAA licenses, etc. Expertise in admissions processing/higher education and general knowledge of other enrollment management areas, to include Financial Aid, Veterans affairs, the Registrar, etc… is beneficial to the role. Counselors may also engage with residential counterparts
