Location: Alton, IL

Pay: $19.00 per hour

Schedule: Part-Time, 20 hours per week (4-5 days per week)

Assignment Length: 6 months or longer, with potential for extension

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Temporary Accounts Payable Accountant to join our team. This position is heavily focused on data entry and requires an individual who can accurately process financial information, retain and follow established procedures, and effectively manage multiple responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will have prior accounting experience, a strong understanding of debits and credits, and excellent organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-volume data entry with a high degree of accuracy
• Process accounts payable invoices and transactions
• Record and reconcile debits and credits
• Review invoices and supporting documentation for accuracy
• Maintain organized financial records and files
• Assist with account reconciliations and general ledger activities
• Support the accounting team with various accounting and administrative tasks
• Maintain confidentiality of financial information
• Meet deadlines while managing multiple priorities

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Associate's Degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field preferred
• Previous accounts payable or accounting experience required
• Strong understanding of debits and credits
• Excellent data entry and computer skills
• Strong time management and organizational abilities
• Ability to retain information and quickly learn company processes
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Must be able to successfully pass a 7-year background check
