Direct Support Professional
Direct Support Professional (DSP) employees work with people who experience developmental disabilities as they live in their homes and communities. This position assists people in their daily life, working with them and their connections to ensure that they can live fully in the community. Direct Support Professionals recognize people's rights to direct their life, understanding that each person has unique gifts and needs, and they support people to learn skills for their own growth and development.

The successful candidate for this position will be selected according to Schedule A of the SEIU Peel/Halton Bargaining Unit Collective Agreement, ( $24.68-$28.88)
The successful candidate should bring with them a passion for working in a fast-paced environment and be self-motivated with the ability to use creative problem-solving skills. The successful candidate should have excellent written and verbal communication skills as they need to connect with community services and support the individuals in various community activities. These skills are required for this position to provide consistent care coordination and empower individual choice. Prior experience in supporting clients with dual diagnosis (developmental disability and mental illness) is beneficial.
The successful candidate need to be able to work with data base.
