Responsible for serving customers and selling merchandise. Completes regular sales transactions. Provides courteous service to customers in a timely manner. Maintains knowledge of current promotions, fashion trends, merchandise features, and store inventory. Assists in maintaining store visual objectives, housekeeping standards and stock replenishment. May handle customer complaints, exchanges, refunds, and adjustments. Helps ensure correct signing and pricing of merchandise. Involved indirectly with ticketing of products as well as checking paperwork against items received. Good knowledge of company policy and procedures as they relate to loss prevention and safety. Contacts and briefs management should a loss prevention situation arise. May be responsible for training and helping new sales associates. Assists in product flow from stockroom to sales floor on a fill-in basis. Normally reports to a Store Manager or Assistant Manager.
