[What the role is]

Temporary Student Support Officer (Special Education Needs)

[What you will be working on]

• Provideindividualisedsupporttostudentsinmanagingchallengingbehavioursinschool,including support management for meltdowns
• SupporttheSpecial Education Needs (SEN)teamtoimplementbehaviourinterventionsandlearningsupportplansforstudents with SEN in collaboration with academic team and other stakeholders
• Maintainrecordsofstudentprogressandinterventions implemented
• Assistwithorganising , implementing, and facilitating training and advocacyprogrammes forstudentswith SEN
• PartnerwithSENteam,academicteamandotherstakeholderstocreateasupportiveenvironment conducive to the success of students with SEN
• Assist in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for the student system's (STAR) Case Management module

[What we are looking for]

• PassionanddispositiontocareforandworkwithstudentswithSEN
• RelevantqualificationsinInclusiveandSpecialEducation,Education,Psychology,Appliedor Educational Psychology, Counselling and/or relevant areas preferred
• Atleast3yearsofexperiencesupportingstudentswithSEN,preferablyinaneducationalorsocial service sector setting preferred
• Resourcefulandgoodproblem-solvingskills.Demonstratedabilitytoworkwithindividualsfrom diverse backgrounds, and collaboratively with different stakeholders in student support
• Demonstratedabilitytoworkindependentlyaswellasinateam setting
• Excellentinterpersonalcommunication(bothoralandwritten)andadministrativeskills
• ITproficiency indata management,with MicrosoftExcel,WordandPowerPoint
• Experienceinfacilitatingworkshopandeventsmanagementwouldbeanadvantage
