Job Description

Position Title:Telephone Operator II

FLSA Status:Non-Exempt

Reports To:Safety Supervisor

Provides efficient telecommunications efficient services to the REHAB hospital staff, patients, and the community by providing accurate switchboard service and in a courteous, friendly and professional manner in directing phone calls to the appropriate department and services. Assists with coordination of emergency responses by following established protocols of the facility security regulations. Maintains daily reports and information for the facility.

Wage Range: $16.26 - $24.40/hour.

The actual wage is dependent on the applicant's relevant experience and qualifications for this position. The wage range for this position may be subject to change in the future depending on a variety of factors such as market conditions, business needs, legal developments, and other appropriate factors.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.

Skills/Experience:

  • Work experience in answering calls, forwarding calls to departments, taking and relaying messages appropriately while working with the
    general public, vendors, employees, etc.

  • Ability to type and effective communication skills via telephone and in person required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Familiarity with hospital terminology (i.e. CODE 500, RACE).
