General Summary

The BY YOUR SIDE Telehealth Flex Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is responsible for evaluation, creation, and implementation of ABA Therapy plans, accurate and reliable data collection, consultation, and training with family and staff. The Telehealth Flex BCBA will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create and maintain therapy plans that address all behavioral and skill acquisition needs of the clients. This position will provide primarily telehealth or remote client supervision and parent consultation and training across multiple locations with occasional in-person sessions or meetings as needed or as assigned by their supervisor.

The Telehealth Flex BCBA is responsible for defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions. They should have the ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions, read, analyze and respond to inquiries or complaints from clients and effectively presents information to top management.

Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities

Core duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Responsible for enforcing standards for BCBA to maintain BY YOUR SIDE’s high quality of care for clients and families.
  • Ensure that ethical standards and HIPAA compliance are being enforced.
  • Conduct initial and ongoing assessments to determine appropriate clinical recommendations and therapy plans.
  • Maintain a comprehensive therapy plan for each client; long range goals, short range objectives, activities related to these objectives and an evaluation of progress toward these objectives.
  • Collaborate and communicate with relevant BY YOUR SIDE staff to ensure effective and efficient implementation plans.
  • Consult and plan with the client’s family concerning ongoing progress and program development.
  • Evaluate and prepare required reports as dictated by best practices and insurance payors.
  • Arrange parent meetings to maintain communication and training with the family.
  • Collaborate with center leadership and/or primary BCBA as needed to ensure effective treatment when temporarily covering case management for BCBA leaves or resignations.
  • Independently manage a remote/telehealth caseload as assigned.
  • Maintain a minimum of 114 billable hours a month. This includes a minimum of 10% direct client protocol modification.
  • Cover a caseload that may flex up to 300 hours to cover BCBA maternity leaves, family leave, resignations, or gaps before new hire BCBA starts to promote continuity of care for BYS clients.
  • Attend recommended professional meetings and seminars to meet continuing education requirements as approved by the BY YOUR SIDE executive staff.
  • Represent BY YOUR SIDE to local, state, and national organizations in a positive manner when attending professional seminars.

Required skills and competencies:

  • Previous experience delivering telehealth ABA supervision, programming, and parent training preferred.
  • Ability to lead a team and supervise therapists.
  • Familiarity with relevant diagnostic tools and procedures.
  • Ability to maintain quality, safety and infection control standards.
  • Knowledge of sensory and behavioral strategies.
  • Must possess strong communications and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently with changing priorities and deadlines, from remote location(s).
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, execute on deadlines and produce high quality deliverables with attention to details.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams
  • Uphold and maintain BYS core principles, policies and procedures.

Clinical Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Provide assigned targeted caseload hours per week of direct therapy, while maintaining timely professional documentation of clinical notes for direct client care provided.
  • Ensure completion and quality of documentation for all pre-authorizations, initial assessments, ongoing assessments and insurance reports.
  • Provide training and supervision for R/BTs, evaluate and track performance and quality of therapy sessions, and deliver performance reviews.
  • Provide supervision for RBTs and meet the BACB supervision requirements and required documentation.

Education and certification:

  • National Certification by Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
  • Illinois state BCBA license
  • Master’s Degree required in relevant field from an accredited University.
  • Completion of eight (8) hour online Supervisor Training and complete required CEUs.
  • CPR/First Aid Certified preferred or will train on site.
  • SafetyCare Certified preferred or will train on site

Environmental conditions/ physical requirements: (with or without accommodations)

This role functions in both professional and clinical environments

  • Reliable transportation is required for travel to and from work and between therapy environments for in-person sessions as needed or as assigned.
  • May regularly lift, pull, push, and /or move 10-25 pounds, and may occasionally lift pull, push, and /or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Physical ability to move quickly, kneel, bend, squat, crouch, twist, walk, sit, stand and reach for prolonged periods.
  • Must be able to respond quickly, which may include transitioning from a seated position to standing in case of client elopement or emergency.
  • Must be able to assess and navigate factors that may impact safety and security.
  • This position’s hours of work and days vary based on the needs of clients/business. Evening, weekend work and/or overtime may be required, as needed.
  • This position requires prolonged periods of computer use, keyboard/finger and hand dexterity and extended screen time throughout the workday.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, comprehend or hear and perform in an environment with elevated noise levels.
