Job Description

of Performance Expectations


Serves as telephone communications source for the medical center. Provides after hours paging for numerous physician groups with the ability to adapt to the ongoing changing needs for individual practices. Serves as dispatcher for medical center police officers. Monitors the surveillance cameras and alerts hospital police to potential issues. Monitors and alerts appropriate personnel to various alarms such as fire, code blue ERT, RRT as well as others. Serves as hospital’s 911 and activates reverse 911 paging when directed. Monitors doors designated as “access controlled”.

Education and Credentials:

Required:

High School diploma or equivalent. Must obtain International Academies Emergency Dispatch’s Basic Emergency Telecommunicator Certification OR equivalent certification, approved by CVMC Communications and Corporate Safety & Security departments, within nine months of employment.

Effective 12/01/19 incumbents currently in the role will obtain the International Academies Emergency Dispatch’s Basic Emergency Telecommunicator Certification within nine months from the effective date.

No previous experience required. Given training and on-the-job experience incumbent should be proficient in the basic aspects of the job within three months of employment date.
