We are seeking a Telecommunications Engineer to be based as a full time employment in our Sydney office.

Salary will be AUD $190,000.00 per annum

Role Responsibilities

• Responsible for the production of ICT infrastructure design specifications, in particular, written report documents, drawings, technical specifications, procurement packs, including technical leadership management skills
• Gravitas to question, challenge and innovate design. Confidence to manage client and stakeholder expectations
• Development of 2D CAD design drawings and the interpretation and coordination of 3D Revit models
• Represents company at technical meetings with customers, professional teams and contractor teams
• Ensures specifications, drawings and calculations meet industry, legal and quality standards
• Takes holistic view in the selection and application of ICT infrastructure design concepts and solutions
• Management of ICT design co-ordination with related engineering disciplines, e.g. electrical and mechanical
• Reviews, innovates and challenges industry best practices and norms
• Manage and support technical team output and production
• Plan, host and conduct meetings with the client and relevant project stakeholders
• Develop a clear understanding of client requirements from both a technical and operational standpoint
• Document client requirements and engage with the client and all relevant stakeholders to confirm expectations have been accurately captured.
• Undertake peer and QA review of CAD drawings (typically cabling systems, containment, cabinet elevation, comms room layout)
• Produce written documents including the following:
o Technical specifications
o Performance specification
• Schematic diagrams (typically data network)

Role Requirements

  • Engineering degree in appropriate ICT infrastructure design engineering discipline or have sufficient equivalent experience.
    • A-Level secondary education, HNC/HND, plus appropriate experience or equivalent.
    • Significant experience of ICT infrastructure design for different building types.
    • Previous project experience in ICT infrastructure for data centre construction; commercial building construction ICT infrastructure
    • Technical qualifications and design experience in the following technologies is essential:
    o LAN Ethernet Switching
    o Structured Cabling Systems
    o Fibre Optic Networks
    o Wi-Fi Network Communications
    o Telecommunication Network Infrastructure and Services
    • Significant experience in the following service provision:
    o Data cabling manufacture/contracting
    o IT /IP network systems integration
    o Network technology vendor/manufacturer
    o IT/Multi-disciplinary consulting firm
    • Construction project management.
