Hato Hone St John is New Zealand's leading medical alarm provider and is recommended most often by GPs. The technology we use is amongst the very best and ensures people get the help they need quickly.

We provide high-quality alarm monitoring and alarm fault resolution services to our customers. St John Medical alarms not only help seniors and people with disabilities to continue enjoying their independence, we also monitor lone workers to ensure they are always safe.

The Monitoring Team is responsible for:

  • Monitoring and responding to incoming alerts and notifications from telecare devices and systems
  • Communicating effectively with clients, caregivers, and emergency services to assess situations and provide appropriate assistance
  • Maintaining accurate and detailed records of all monitoring activities and incidents
  • Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to telecare devices and systems
  • Demonstrating empathy, patience, and a commitment to excellent customer service
  • Collaborating with other team members to ensure seamless operations and continuous improvement

This is a permanent, part-time position, working 24 hours per week - 6 hours per day across 4 days, Monday to Sunday. We run a flexi-roster, so:

  • Your start time will fall between 7.00am and 10:30pm.
  • Days/week and start/finish times may change each week, to cover things like planned leave however, your roster will be provided 4 weeks' in advance
  • Shift swap option with others
  • There is also the opportunity to pick up additional hours during the week
  • Hybrid working model available 2/4 shifts per week working from home
  • Staff benefits with various suppliers

Qualifications

We are looking for:

  • The desire to provide excellent customer service and support your community
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and concisely
  • Strong active listening skills and the ability to interpret and respond to client needs effectively
  • Proactive and able to search for the answer first, before escalating
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically in high-pressure situations
  • Proficiency with computer systems, software applications, and telecare monitoring technologies
  • Previous experience in a customer service or call centre role is preferred
  • Experience with telecare monitoring or remote assistance is an advantage
  • Knowledge of healthcare terminology and procedures is an advantage
