In this role, you'll:


Working as part of a team delivering resilient and secure telecommunications that enable continuous transport operations, support essential government services, reduce operational risk, and provide scalable connectivity to meet current and future demands across the Transport cluster.

  • You will lead the design, delivery, and continuous optimisation of telecommunications networks to meet performance, availability, and scalability needs for transport operations.
  • You will ensure security, privacy, regulatory compliance, and risk management are embedded across all telecommunications services and governance practices.
  • You will manage vendors, service level agreements, incidents, and service restoration to ensure reliable network performance and clear stakeholder communication.
  • You will drive continuous improvement and innovation while managing budgets, supporting enterprise architecture, and developing a high‑performing telecommunications team.

About you

  • You bring a deep understanding of telecommunications infrastructure, network technologies, industry protocols, and modern telco service delivery models with experience in delivering services from different telco vendors and services operating over wireless and wired infrastructure.
  • You have proven experience managing large‑scale, complex, and geographically dispersed network operations with experience in updating and maintaining design, asset or configuration databases or systems while forecasting and managing budgets.
  • Your skill in vendor, stakeholder and contract management includes governing SLAs and negotiating strong performance outcomes with particular experience in escalation management and risk & issue resolution through strong contract and/or supplier governance.
  • You demonstrate sound knowledge of government security, privacy, and compliance requirements, supported by relevant engineering or telecommunications qualifications or equivalent experience.
