About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Telco Engineer – News Gathering & Transmission (NG&T) to support a major media infrastructure transformation program. You will join a specialized team responsible for ensuring the reliable transport of media content from across the globe to production and broadcasting environments.

The team delivers connectivity solutions for live productions ranging from small mobile setups to large-scale events, utilizing technologies such as fiber, 4G/5G, satellite communications, RF links, IPTV, and internet streaming.

As part of a large-scale new media facility project, you will contribute to the implementation of a modern, scalable, IP-based media exchange network and play a key role in the migration and integration of critical broadcast infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Connectivity & Infrastructure

• Support the rollout and implementation of fiber connectivity solutions.
• Contribute to the deployment of satellite communication infrastructure, including new satellite installations.
• Support IPTV platform implementation and in-house television distribution systems.
• Assist with integration between the broader media network and newly constructed facilities.
• Implement and optimize streaming and media transport solutions.

Design & Engineering

• Participate in the design and preparation of modern media transport and connectivity architectures.
• Translate technical designs into operational solutions.
• Configure and implement encoders, transport streams, and media delivery workflows.
• Ensure solutions are scalable, reliable, and operationally sustainable.

Migration & Transformation

• Support controlled migration of existing workflows and services to new infrastructure.
• Identify and manage dependencies across multiple technical domains.
• Coordinate migration activities with infrastructure, production teams, suppliers, and project stakeholders.

Documentation & Governance

• Produce and maintain technical documentation and product descriptions.
• Create network diagrams, architecture drawings, and implementation documentation.
• Ensure operational knowledge is properly documented and transferred.

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Work closely with internal engineering teams and external technology partners.
• Participate in project meetings, planning sessions, and technical workshops.
• Provide technical guidance during implementation and operational phases.

Required Skills & Experience

Mandatory

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Network Engineer
• Minimum 3 years of experience with fiber networks, IP networking, and media transport technologies
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with relevant technologies including:
  • SRT
  • RIST
  • TS-over-IP
  • DVB-S2
  • DVB-S2X
  • CWDM
  • IPTV
• Minimum 3 years of experience with comparable telecom, network, or transmission technologies
• Strong understanding of network architecture and media transport environments.
• Proven ability to work independently while collaborating within multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Hands-on implementation and troubleshooting experience.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Minimum 3 years of experience in broadcast transmission environments
• Experience working within television, media, or broadcasting organizations.
• Experience with satellite communication systems and telecom equipment.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, ICT, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
• Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
• Dutch language proficiency at CEFR Level C2
