PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Teen Reach Coordinator is responsible for the planning, organizing and implementing teen programs and evaluates activities and outcomes within a specific program area, supporting our priority outcome areas of Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, Good Character and Citizenship.
KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):
Prepare Youth for Success
Create an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes
Promote and encourage program participation;
Provide guidance and role modeling to members;
Maintain a safe and respectful environment.
Program Development and Implementation
Effectively implement and administer programs, services and activities for teen members, ages 11-18.
Prepare daily, weekly and monthly lesson plans
Completes mandatory reports accurately and provides documentation to supervisor as requested.
Recruits members as needed to reach program goals
Monitor and evaluate programs, services and activities to ensure Club and child safety, quality programs and good appearance of the Club at all times. Track and assess outcomes through periodic activity reports.
Supervision
Ensure a productive work environment by participating in weekly staff meetings.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED / College coursework preferred
At least one year of experience working with youth ages 5 – 18 years old
Knowledge of youth development
Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems
Ability to maintain a high level of energy
Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth
Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment
Ability to deal with the general public
Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications within 90 days of hire
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Ability to continuously stand, walk or sit. Ability to function for more than two hours on your feet. Ability to bend, squat, climb stairs and lift frequently. Will be working in a Club environment with children. Ability to be outdoors during all seasons occasionally. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
