MAKE AN IMPACT THAT MATTERS

We’re seeking an accomplished Technology Systems Design Leader (IMIT) to join our Angus Connect team and guide the successful delivery of complex, multi-disciplinary projects across sectors such as large-scale data centres, acute and non-acute healthcare, and commercial environments. In this leadership role, you’ll provide strategic technical direction, oversee project execution, and ensure that our technology system designs consistently meet client objectives, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

You’ll serve as the technical authority across multiple IMIT disciplines—including communications, security, AV, and building automation—leading the development of advanced design solutions for large and often multi-year projects. You’ll review and validate complex design packages, manage design teams, maintain technical integrity, and ensure that all deliverables reflect our high standards of innovation, accuracy, and constructability. Your expertise will shape specifications, guide constructability assessments, and influence project strategies from concept through construction.

As a key advisor to clients, senior leadership, and project stakeholders, you’ll provide insight on emerging technologies, operational strategies, and long-term technical planning. You’ll facilitate integrated design discussions, recommend solution pathways for complex technical challenges, and help align multidisciplinary teams around cohesive, high-performing outcomes.

Beyond project leadership, you’ll contribute to the evolution of Angus Connect’s design standards, tools, and technical policies, sharing thought leadership and mentoring designers to elevate the team’s technical capabilities. You’ll also manage and prioritize resources across multiple large projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and deliverables remain on track.

This role is ideal for a forward-thinking, solutions-driven leader who is recognized as a subject matter expert in the technology systems industry, excels at guiding technical teams, and takes pride in delivering sophisticated, future-ready technology environments.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Expert in multiples disciplines within IT industry with numerous years of related experience.
  • Assumes the technical lead role in multiple verticals (healthcare, AV, Telecom, Security etc.).
  • Manages multiple large projects including timelines, resources, and deliverables and provides deep subject matter expertise to develop solutions
    to the most complex technical issues.
  • Leads and facilitates comprehensive client solutions and recommends operational or technical strategies and plans to clients and project team
    members.
  • Advises senior leadership, clients, and stakeholders on matters of strategic technical importance.
  • Industry expert recognized both within and outside the organization.
  • Contributes to thought leadership, policy development, and design standards for the division.
  • Maintains technical competency of complex designs, which are generally multi-year, involve complex drawings, calculations, and advanced design
    knowledge, either directly or by overseeing work of a team of designers.
  • Peer reviews design work of other designers particularly for complex and non-conventional designs.
  • Reviews and signs off on complex design reports and standards.
  • Completes assigned projects on time and within budget; ensures the team perform work within budgeted hours.
  • Acts as a design leader for complex projects requiring considerable experience.
  • Understands and is able to speak to consulting capabilities, deliverables, and resources in order to manage and influence projects.
  • Other duties as required.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • 15+ years of related experience within the ICT industry.
  • Expert in multiple disciplines within the ICT industry (Audio-visual, security, telecommunications, etc.).
  • Expert knowledge in technology systems design and implementation.
  • Strong background in managing large, complex projects, including timelines, resources, and deliverables.
  • Ability to oversee and guide the development of complex designs involving drawings, calculations, and advanced design knowledge.
  • Experience in mentoring and developing others in the organization.
  • Experience with peer-reviewing design work, particularly for complex and non-conventional designs.
  • Proven ability to sign off on complex design reports and standards.
  • Strong technical competency in multi-year projects and large-scale designs.
  • Experience with strategic selling and supporting divisional growth.

TOTAL REWARDS

The expected salary for this role is between $125,000 to $165,000 annually. Base salaries are determined considering several factors such as skills and competencies, experience, education, and internal and external competitiveness. Along with your base salary we offer a wide array of programs that include our Short Term Incentive bonus program, technical and business training, mentoring, wellness initiatives, the opportunity to participate in our coveted Defined Benefit Pension plan, flexible work arrangement, and hybrid work structure.
