Project Role Description : Resolve incidents and problems across multiple business system components and ensure operational stability. Create and implement Requests for Change (RFC) and update knowledge base articles to support effective troubleshooting. Collaborate with vendors and help service management teams with issue analysis and resolution.

We are seeking a Senior Backup Administrator with 5–8 years of experience to lead L2/L3 backup operations and drive improvements in backup infrastructure. The role demands deep technical expertise in at least two backup platforms (Avamar, AWS Backup, Rubrik), strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to mentor junior team members.

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Own and resolve complex L2/L3 backup and recovery incidents and service requests.
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring or critical backup failures and implement corrective actions.
- Implement backup policies, SLAs, retention strategies, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Manage multi-platform backup environments spanning on-premises, hybrid, and cloud workloads.
- Evaluate and implement performance tuning for backup jobs, data deduplication, and replication.
- Drive automation of routine backup tasks using scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash).
- Collaborate with architecture and project teams for new backup solution onboarding.
- Conduct capacity planning, storage forecasting, and license management for backup tools.
- Prepare weekly/monthly operational reports and contribute to service improvement plans.
- Manage and maintain backup integrations with VMware, Oracle, SQL Server, SAP, and cloud workloads.
- Participate in DR drills and ensure successful restore SLA compliance.
Technical Skills & Tools
- Deep expertise in at least 2 of: Avamar, AWS Backup, Rubrik
- Proficiency in scripting: PowerShell, Python, Bash for job automation and reporting
- Experience with NAS/SAN storage concepts
- Understanding of AWS S3, Glacier, and cloud-native backup services
- Experience with ITSM platforms (ServiceNow, BMC Remedy)
- Working knowledge of LDAP/Active Directory integration with backup tools
Mandatory Backup Tool Requirement: Candidates must have hands-on experience in at least 2 of the following 3 backup platforms: Avamar, AWS Backup, and Rubrik

Professional & Technical Skills:
- Must To Have Skills: Commvault Backup Administration, EMC Storage Area Network (SAN) Administration.
- Experience in managing backup and recovery operations to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve backup-related incidents efficiently.
- Familiarity with storage systems and data protection strategies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with vendors and internal teams.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
- 5–8 years of backup/recovery administration experience in enterprise environments
- Expertise in at least 2 of the 3 backup tools: Avamar, AWS Backup, Rubrik
- Strong troubleshooting skills across operating systems (Windows, Linux)
- Experience with database backups: Oracle RMAN, SQL Server, MySQL
- Proficient in scripting and automation skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across teams

Preferred Qualifications & Certifications
- ITIL v3/v4 Foundation or Practitioner certification
- AWS Solutions Architect Associate or AWS SysOps certification
- Vendor certifications: Dell EMC Avamar, Rubrik RCSA/RCSP, or equivalent
- Familiarity with data compliance regulations (GDPR, HIPAA, SOX, GxP)

Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum 3 years of experience in Commvault Backup Administration.
- This position is based at our Bengaluru office.
- A 15 years full time education is required.
- Take part in 24x7 Shift Rotations including Morning, Evening and Night Shifts Work out of hours ev.
