Job Description

We're building a Transformation and Delivery function that will help shape the future of The Warehouse Group, and we're looking for an experienced Technology Portfolio Manager to join us on that journey.

As our Technology Portfolio Manager, you'll bring visibility, coordination and strategic planning across our Oracle Retail portfolio, supporting critical buy, move and sell capabilities that keep our retail operations running smoothly. Working closely with business and technology leaders, you'll help shape priorities, manage dependencies, identify risks and provide insights that support confident decision-making across the enterprise.

Sitting within our Transformation & Delivery function, you'll play a key role in connecting business priorities with technology delivery, ensuring initiatives are well sequenced, aligned and integrated into our broader business plan. While you won't be responsible for project delivery, you'll provide the oversight, coordination and portfolio insight that helps drive successful outcomes.

Your role involves:

  • Lead portfolio planning and visibility across our Oracle Retail ecosystem, across Plan Buy, Move and Sell capabilities.
  • Understanding retail business priorities and translating them into technology demand and investment decisions.
  • Partner with business and technology leaders to prioritise initiatives, manage dependencies and align delivery roadmaps while maintaining a holistic view of technology across the domain.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to support technology planning, governance and investment discussions.
  • Identify risks, constraints and sequencing considerations to improve delivery confidence and decision-making.
  • Support the integration of business, transformation and portfolio delivery initiatives into a single enterprise plan.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, helping leaders make informed decisions while delivery remains owned by programme and project teams.

Qualifications

You'll thrive in this environment:

  • Are experienced in enterprise transformation, portfolio or programme management.
  • Experienced in large, complex organisations – preferably retail
  • Have a strong understanding of technology platforms and delivery environments – namely Oracle
  • Enjoy working with complexity, ambiguity and competing priorities.
  • Are comfortable influencing senior stakeholders and facilitating difficult trade-off conversations.
  • Strong enterprise portfolio planning, integrated planning or large-scale programme planning experience
  • Stakeholder engagement, facilitation, influencing and negotiation.

Additional Information

When you join us, we offer a range of benefits that work for you, your lifestyle, and your career, which include:

  • Discounts across our brands
  • Birthday leave
  • Free parking at our Northshore support office
  • We value collaboration, connection & flexibility – with 1 day (Friday) WFH
  • Onsite gym and café at our Northcote support office
  • A range of wellbeing support and development opportunities

If you're looking for an opportunity to make a lasting impact and help build a new enterprise capability from the ground up, we'd love to hear from you. Apply now.

About The Warehouse Group

The Warehouse Group (TWG) is a New Zealand success story, founded by Sir Stephen Tindall and evolved from a single The Warehouse store to become one of the largest retailing groups in New Zealand with $3 billion in sales. TWG consists of three core retail brands: The Warehouse, Warehouse Stationery, and Noel Leeming. We have over 180 retail stores, online stores as well as distribution centres throughout New Zealand. We also have two overseas sourcing offices located in China and India. We are a people-centred business with more than 10,000 team employees across our locations.

TWG is known for being Here for Good - it’s who we are and what keeps us focused to succeed. It represents our commitment to better living for all New Zealanders, through sustainable retail products and practices and the mission of contributing to the long-lasting health of our planet.

Over the years, we’ve raised over 50 million dollars for New Zealand communities and have contributed to countless community-focussed initiatives. We were the first company in New Zealand to add a Shielded Site link to the Women's Refuge website to help protect those experiencing family violence, and were a key supporter of the Government’s Family Violence Victims’ Protection Bill. We were New Zealand’s first large company and the third major retailer in the world to go carbon neutral.

While we are 40+ years old as a business, in many ways we feel we’re just getting started.
