
Seaspan’s Innovation team is actively developing and adopting technologies for digital twins, green technologies, and advanced manufacturing in support of use-cases for future vessels, engineering services, and in-service support. Our innovation program includes current and planned projects seeking scalable solutions that integrate emerging technologies such as real-time sensors, 3D spatial information, additive manufacturing, robotics, and visualization technologies to improve Seaspan’s shipbuilding and refit business.
The Technology Manager, Innovation facilitates the adoption and integration of multiple and varied technologies relevant for vessel design and build through execution of high-impact technology transfer initiatives for Innovation activities in 3D model sustainment, additive manufacturing, reality capture, and interactive visualization systems. You will work with Innovation and Shipyard teams to understand pain-points, select and apply technologies, navigate or adapt processes, and transfer and build new capabilities using software tools, sensors, and practices.
The candidate is responsible for team and stakeholder management, coordinating technical solution development, defining and supervising assigned work and associated budgets to achieve successful project outcomes, managing technical risks, and developing Innovation’s strategic technology areas. Candidates must have demonstratable experience with introducing new technologies and associated processes in large and complex organizations with sound decision making for managing across competing demands with short-timelines and high-level requirements definition.
A results-oriented and creative problem-solver, the candidate has a passion for creating positive team relationships, pushing forward new ideas, creating positive team relationships that foster entrepreneurial thinking, and an affinity for mutual-objective collaborations that lead to innovative, fit-for-purpose solutions that promote user adoption and business-strategic outcomes.
This senior-level role formally reports to the Senior Manager, Innovation and will collaborate with and be responsible for several initiatives underway within the multi-disciplinary Innovation team.
Note: This position qualifies for an optional hybrid work schedule after 90 days of onsite work and onboarding. Employee will be subject to the terms of the Flexible Work Policy Agreement.

The estimated salary for this position is 143,100 - $174,900. In determining final salary, Seaspan considers many factors including the successful Candidate’s skills and experience as well as position location and internal equity. The final base salary offer will be at the Company’s sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.
