The Opportunity

Just Eat Takeaway is looking for a Technology Manager to lead and grow the Partner App team in the Service & Supply domain.

The Partner App is available as both a mobile app and a website or restaurant and grocery partners across all market regions. Built for business leaders such as owners, managers and supervisors, the app acts as a vital bridge connecting partners to the JET ecosystem, helping them maximise value from their partnership with JET.

As a Technology Manager, you will lead a talented cross-functional engineering team responsible for driving the mobile platforms' strategy, expanding capabilities to better suit partner supervisors, and integrating intelligent, AI-driven recommendations that help partners grow their relationship with JET.

• Mobile Product Experience - Evolve the core Partner App by expanding its addressable audience, and establishing streamlined pathways for teams across JET to easily deliver new app capabilities.
• AI Strategy & Growth Nudges - Position the mobile app as a key focal point for JET’s AI strategy, surfacing personalized opportunity recommendations, intelligent nudges, and growth insights to deepen partner engagement.
• Seamless Ecosystem - Own the Partner App architecture, providing core services like navigation and messaging to streamline capability ownership by other teams.
• Cohesiveness - Align capabilities across teams to ensure a unified user experience.

Our multi-disciplinary team brings together strong fullstack, frontend, backend, and mobile engineering skills. You will guide engineers across a rich technological stack, combining React Native, Vue.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, C#/.NET, and some legacy PHP/Laravel to deliver high-impact mobile solutions at scale.

We build for scale and speed across mobile and web platforms. Our primary technology stack includes:

• Cross-Platform Mobile Development - Building performant, native-quality experiences on iOS and Android using React Native and JavaScript / TypeScript.
• Modern Web & Frontend Architecture - Delivering scalable web applications and shared UI components using Vue.js and TypeScript.
• Backend & API Services - Powering features through robust backend architectures in C# / .NET and PHP / Laravel.
• Event Driven Architecture - Data processing using Kafka and SNS/SQS to coordinate between different modules.

Key Responsibilities

At JET - Technology Managers have primary accountability for the technical direction, engineering quality, and execution of multiple product development teams. They work with their teams to design and implement impact-driven solutions, delivering valuable insights and product features that make our customer and restaurant experiences even better. Our technology managers ensure their teams are happy, focused, driven, and delivering high-impact insights and quality software in the most effective way possible. You’ll be responsible for:

In this role, you will also have the opportunity to:

• Product Definition - contribute to the definition of significant product features, getting involved in workshops with other engineering teams and Product Managers
• Technical Leadership - Collaborate with your Head of Engineering and peers to define and communicate a technical roadmap for the domain
• Career Development - Help define goals and objectives for engineers in the team to lead and guide them throughout their careers and aspirations.
• Prioritisation - Working closely with stakeholders and your Head of Engineering to ensure the domain sets their priorities appropriately, in line with commercial needs and the Engineering Strategy.
• Ownership - Owning streams of work that span the domain, from requirements gathering, to design, and supporting functionality in production
• Continuous improvement - Improve the effectiveness of the domain by proposing and implementing new processes, designs and engineering practices. Sharing these improvements across the wider Engineering org.
• Tracking Progress - Track the progress being made towards the wider goals of the domain, and transparently communicates this with the teams and Head of Engineering
• Operating - Take responsibility for deploying and supporting your changes all the way through to prove that they work well - and continue to work well - in production
• Communicate - transparently communicate your progress and discuss ideas with your teams, other senior Individual Contributors and your Head of Engineering. Share new development practices, patterns, and standards with the teams you work with.

Your Profile & Experience

You will have experience matching some of the following;

• Proven experience leading cross-functional engineering teams ideally spanning mobile (React Native), frontend (Vue.js, JS/TS), and backend technologies (.NET, PHP)
• Delivering high quality software projects, driving forward best practices
• Able to work independently and solve complex problems
• Amazon Web Services (or similar e.g. Azure, Google Cloud)
• Experience in an Agile environment (Scrum, Kanban)
• Desire to coach engineers and to drive a high performance culture
• Familiarity with leveraging AI-driven features, smart recommendations, or automated insights within consumer/partner applications
