IT Hardware Specialist

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

This position is primarily responsible for working with vendors and CRCSD staff to plan, coordinate, and purchase IT hardware for CRCSD.

  • Communicates clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, to convey complex ideas, collaborate across teams, and maintain thorough documentation.
  • Work with CRCSD staff and vendors in order to deliver customer service solutions by planning, coordinating, and purchasing IT hardware.
  • Assist the Operations Team with IT project planning, including participating in onsite walkthroughs in district sites.
  • Maintains accurate hardware records within the CRCSD inventory management system, including track of asset lifecycles, warranty terms, and service agreements.
  • Prepare and submit accurate records for damage loss processing (EMBI).
  • Maintain currency on Instructional Technology trends, hardware and software, including video projection and sound systems.
  • Assist with training opportunities for staff.
  • Be able to assist field technicians or help desk staff, as needed.
  • Requires valid driver's license and ability to self-transport between district sites.

CLASSIFICATION

12 Month Salaried Meet/Confer

SALARY AND BENEFIT

Annual Salary: $65,000-$70,000

  • Standard 12 month meet/confer benefit: Medical, Dental, Vision, and IPERS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • An associates degree and related experience equivalent to to five years preferred,
  • OR a bachelor's degree and three years of experience,
  • OR seven years of related experience in lieu of a degree.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Experience working in a K-12 technology team.
  • Experience in a 1:1 student-to-device environment.
  • Experience in Chrome, Windows, and Apple operating systems.
  • Knowledge of cloud productivity tools such as Google Workspace for Education or Microsoft 365.
  • Experience working with hardware and/or software vendors.
  • Experience with help desk ticketing software, student information systems, or software licensing.
  • Experience creating documentation of processes and procedures.

The employee will frequently bend or twist at the neck and trunk more than the average person while performing the duties of this job. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds 0 to 12 feet and occasionally up to 20 feet, such as curriculum materials, desks, chairs, and boxes. The employee will sometimes push/pull items such as tables and carts. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus while supervising students and working with computers, written materials, reports, assessment data, etc.

The noise level in the work environment is moderately quiet. The position requires the commitment of professional working hours that may require the employee to extend beyond a typical eight hour workday.

The employee will frequently work in different areas of the building including in/at desks, on or near the floor, standing. The employee will usually work in indoor temperatures.
