Technology Director – Innovation Tribe (GDC)

About the Role


We are looking for an inspiring, technology delivery director to drive one of key stream related to Digital assets within our Group Digital Capabilities team and innovation Tribe.
This role sits at the crossroads of technology, strategy, and leadership — ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity, have the ability to simplify complexity, and can turn visionary thinking into impactful directions.

As Technology Delivery Director, you will lead cross-functional squads that define, deliver critical and high-impact digital assets solutions. You will collaborate with different stakeholders like Senior managers, Clients or fintech to create the most innovative, secure and future proof solutions to shape the future of the digital assets and financial markets.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Technical Leadership

  • Set the technology vision and strategy for digital assets and related innovation initiatives.
  • Bridge strategic thinking with pragmatic execution, ensuring concepts evolve into viable, compliant, and secure solutions.
  • Act as a technology ambassador — able to communicate complex topics (e.g., scalability, security, DLT integration) in a clear, structured, and business-aligned way.
  • Partner closely with the Head of Innovation to shape priorities, frameworks, and governance.

Delivery & Execution

  • Drive end-to-end delivery of digital asset products and services, from proof of concept to production.
  • Manage multidisciplinary squads, ensuring speed, quality, and adherence to regulatory and security standards.
  • Champion technical excellence, modern engineering practices, and production stability.
  • Translate technical and architectural discussions into actionable delivery roadmaps.

Stakeholder Management

  • Act as a trusted interlocutor between technology, business lines, ExCo members, and external partners.
  • Engage with FinTechs, regulators, and industry authorities, maintaining strong alignment between Euroclear’s innovation roadmap and ecosystem trends.
  • Ensure effective storytelling and simplification — making complex technological topics understandable to diverse audiences.
  • Technology Insight & Ecosystem Collaboration
  • Maintain a deep understanding of blockchain, DLT, smart contracts, and tokenisation technologies.
  • Evaluate vendor and partner ecosystems (e.g., FinTechs, cloud providers, blockchain platforms) to ensure scalability and interoperability.
  • Identify opportunities for co-innovation or external collaboration to accelerate value creation.

Profile & Experience

Must-Haves

  • 15+ years of experience in technology leadership roles, including significant exposure to innovation, engineering, or transformation programmes in financial services, FinTech, or digital platforms.
  • Proven ability to deliver — leading cross-functional teams and driving large-scale initiatives to production in complex or regulated environments.
  • Strong grounding in computer science or software engineering, with hands-on understanding of system scalability, security, and architecture.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across technical and business communities.
  • Pragmatic, structured thinker with strong storytelling and influencing skills.

Preferred

  • Experience within FinTechs or within innovation hubs of large financial institutions.
  • Familiarity with blockchain frameworks (Ethereum, Hyperledger, Corda) and cloud-native architectures.
  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks governing digital assets (MiCA, DORA, Basel guidelines).
  • Exposure to AI/ML, tokenisation, and data-driven innovation.
