Job Description

Join us as a Technology Business Analyst in Complex Lending

  • Join our Chief Information Office in Commercial & Institutional, where we harness technology innovation, business agility and one-bank collaboration to push the boundaries of what’s possible for our customers
  • The wellbeing and growth of our people is fundamental to our shared success, which is why we’re passionate about cultivating an environment that fosters inclusion and champions potential
  • Our journey will be challenging and complex, but truly transformative – so if you’re ready to stretch your capability, gain unique experience and shape the future banking experience for generations to come, this is your opportunity

What you'll do

In your new role, you’ll be producing business requirements to inform future state design, supporting teams in understanding the requirements and their linkages to the overall domain strategy. In the course of your work, we’ll also look to you to build, manage and maintain a positive working relationship with stakeholders and third party suppliers across multiple franchises and functions.

You’ll also be:

  • Responsible for the outcomes of the team in the identification and delivery of systems, solutions and features
  • Working across teams and stakeholders to capture, validate and document functional and finance requirements, providing challenge and assurance throughout solution design, testing, and implementation.
  • Interacting with customers, key stakeholders, external vendors and the team to obtain and document functional and non-functional needs specifically supporting the LoanIQ Upgrade and SGL Simplification initiatives, ensuring solutions maintain appropriate accounting controls, reconciliation integrity, and operational requirements.
  • Analysing existing system documentation to summarise existing system functionality as it relates to the work at hand
  • Supporting the identification of team priorities based upon feedback from the customers, key stakeholders and the team

The skills you'll need

We’re looking for someone with an extensive understanding of all stages of the product or service life cycle within Complex Lending. This will include in-depth and hands on experience of the current technology landscape, particularly LoanIQ and downstream interfaces, including SGL, Murex, MiVAL, Bancware, GRDW, Loan Pricer and TLM.

You'll be an experienced Business Analyst, with a background in accounting and reconciliation, alongside an understanding of downstream financial reporting.

You’ll also need:

  • Experience applying business analysis tools and techniques in a technology environment, using tools such as Jira, Confluence and Blueworks
  • Experience providing finance focused business analysis and subject matter expertise across LoanIQ change, assessing impacts to SGL, accounting flows, reconciliations, and downstream finance processes
  • Experience analysing end-to-end LoanIQ interfaces and data transformations, identifying dependencies, risks and downstream impacts arising from platform, configuration, and data changes
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to peers and management level colleagues
  • Experience of working with external vendors to deliver solutions that meet business needs against key milestones
  • Good collaboration and stakeholder management skills, with a proven track record of managing multiple stakeholders and driving forward positive outcomes aligned to strategic objectives

We’re a business that understands when our customers and people succeed, our communities succeed, and our economy thrives. As part of our purpose, we’re looking at how we can drive change for our communities in enterprise, learning and climate.

As one of the leading supporters of UK business, we’re prioritising enterprise as a force of change. We’re focusing on the people and communities who have traditionally faced the highest barriers to entry and figuring out ways to remove these.

One of the biggest challenges we all face in our future is climate change. That’s why we’ve put it right at the core of our purpose. We want to champion climate solutions with financing and entrepreneurial support, fully embed climate into our culture and decision making, and be climate positive by 2025.

We’re committed to using our purpose to break down barriers, drive change and ultimately create a great place to work.
