Mesquite ISD - Compensation Plans

Information Technology Compensation Plan

Pay Grade: 1 ($21.25-$30.57)

Shift Type: Full-Time

Wage/Hour Status: Non-Exempt

Reports To: Fire Alarm & Security Supervisor - Safety & Security

EMPLOYMENT BEGINS: As soon as possible

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

To plan and complete technology deployments and assisting in maintaining accurate inventory records on electronic equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification:

High School Diploma or GED

Valid Texas driver's license

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Knowledge and understanding of computer hardware and software

Understanding of technology support systems

Knowledge of district policies and procedures

Possess strong analytical and organizational skills

Effective communication public relation and interpersonal skills

Demonstrate the ability to be self-motivated, self-reliant, and a self-starter

Possess basic skills in Word, Excel, Google Suite, and can navigate MAC and Windows Operating Systems, and iOS devices

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years' experience K-12 education environment preferred.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Establish new items in inventory of electronic equipment using spreadsheets and other software

Troubleshoot hardware and software

Work with Technical Services Department staff on product evaluation and implementation

Provide server software support if needed

Provide technical assistance related to software and network problems

Maintain computer-based inventory record

Perform other duties as assigned

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Mental Demands:

Work with multiple projects concurrently

Ability to work in high-pressure environment

Ability to work a flexible schedule and overtime as needed

Physical demands/environmental factors:

Hours of sitting and working at the computer

Reaching with hands and arms and frequent repeating the same hand, arm or finger motions

Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Frequent driving to all MISD campuses

Ability to see small text in typed or written form
