Caterpillar is looking for a technology focused individual to join our Managed Accounts team as a Technology Account Manager working within Caterpillar’s Customer Solutions Core Regions Division. This role will have responsibility for managing all technology related products and services with a key customer group

The Customer Solutions Core Regions Division is committed to solving customer challenges that extend beyond purchasing machines and parts. This team, alongside dealers, will engage more closely with customers, to create, customize and adapt solutions to meet their needs by leveraging the extensive range of offerings available today across products and services, digital and technology, rental and used, and financing. The division will be regionally on the unique needs of customers in core regions, focused on Americas North, Europe, Japan, Australia and New Zealand.

What You Will Do:

  • Work directly with internal technology groups & account manager team members

  • Work directly with customers to collect information, sell additional products and services to current customers, and ensure customers' needs are met. Direct focus on implementing technology products and services with key customers.

  • Consult with dealers and internal business partners on the subject of sales and service support of product to “corporate account” customers.

  • Implement technology products with key customers

  • Resolve technology related challenges

  • Add value by designing processes for informing customer of rates, shipping date, anticipated delays and any additional information needed by the customer.

What You Will Have (Core Skills)

  • Industry Knowledge Knowledge of the organization's industry group, trends, directions, major issues, regulatory considerations, and trendsetters; ability to apply industry knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.

  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

  • Effective Communication Understanding effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

  • Negotiating: Knowledge of successful negotiation concepts and techniques; ability to negotiate successfully across the organization and with external vendors and clients in a constructive and collaborative manner.

  • Relationship Management Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.

  • Account Management Knowledge of account management; ability to manage day-to-day activities, providing services and support to existing clients.

  • Value Selling Knowledge of the principles and practices for selling products, technology and services; ability to provide overall product/service 'value' and to differentiate support offerings that address clearly understood customer needs.
    Level Extensive Experience:

Top Candidates Will Have:

  • College degree in engineering or business

  • 10 yrs’ experience working with customers and at Caterpillar or dealer

  • Demonstrated experience with direct customer interaction

  • Experience working in an international environment and in a highly complex matrix environment

Additional Information:

  • Must be able to travel up to 50% (Domestic & International)

  • Cell phone stipend provided

Pay Range:

$128,470.00 - $192,710.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
