Job Description

UVA Health Outpatient Imaging Culpeper (OIC) is seeking a Full-Time Technologist Assistant to join our outpatient imaging team in Culpeper, VA.

Status: Full-Time

Schedule: Mid-Shift with occasional Saturday coverage

Location: 509 S. Main St., Suite 100, Culpeper, VA 22701

The Technologist Assistant supports our imaging technologists, helps maintain efficient patient flow, and provides a positive and comfortable experience for our patients.

What You'll Do

  • Assist patients with check-in, screening forms, preparation, transport, and positioning.
  • Start IVs under the direction of a nurse or technologist and in accordance with applicable state law.
  • Review patient information and communicate questions or concerns to the technologist.
  • Explain procedures, answer patient questions, and provide compassionate support throughout the visit.
  • Follow imaging and MRI safety protocols and communicate potential safety concerns.
  • Help maintain efficient patient flow and minimize wait times.
  • Assist with stocking supplies and preparing clinical areas.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation in RIS and PACS.
  • Support technologists and other imaging areas as needed.
  • Participate in required meetings, training, and safety initiatives.

We're looking for someone who is dependable, proactive, patient-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment. The ideal candidate communicates well, works collaboratively, and is willing to step in wherever needed to support patients and the imaging team.

Requirements

EXPERIENCE:

  • Certified Phlebotomist and/or Medical Assistant experience required.

EDUCATION:

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • BLS certification required within 60 days of hire.
  • Certification in phlebotomy and/or Medical Assistant.
