Job Description

There’s never been a better time to be in energy. And there’s never been a more exciting time to be at Endeavour Energy.

More than 2.7 million people across New South Wales rely on us every day for the supply of safe and reliable power to their homes and businesses. We employ more than 1,700 people across our catchment, making us one of the largest employers in Sydney’s Greater West.

We need talented people who care about one another and the work they do. Why? Because we’re one of Australia's fastest growing networks, connecting 20,000 new customers each year, including the Western Sydney Aerotropolis. And when we power together, we go further, faster; towards a smarter, more sustainable future for us all.

On offer

Join a supportive, high-energy team that thrives on care, collaboration, and performance—both for each other and for our customers. This is your chance to play a key role in a rapidly evolving energy sector, contributing to an essential service and helping drive the clean energy transition. You’ll be recognised and rewarded for your contributions, with access to ongoing training, personal development, and clear career progression pathways. Plus, enjoy the benefits of a 9-day fortnight, giving you more time to recharge and focus on what matters most.

Earnings and Benefits

Base Salary $83,760 to $99,540 (avg 36 hours per week, 9-day fortnight), + 16.5% super + allowances and additional benefits. Total typical earnings $108,874 to $159,217 per annum (This is an estimate based on most common amounts paid last year, and not a guarantee of future earnings).

About the role

Our Transmission Team is looking for experienced tradespeople to join their specialist team, with two exciting opportunities available—one at our Narellan Field Service Centre. In this role, you will be actively involved in the construction, refurbishment, and maintenance of Zone and Transmission substations.

You will also have the opportunity to undertake external works through our trusted partners or in other regions as needed, gaining a diverse range of experience and exposure to a variety of projects. This is your chance to contribute your expertise in a dynamic team, working on essential infrastructure that keeps our network safe, reliable, and future-ready.

About you

You thrive in a hands-on, collaborative role and are committed to contributing to a safe, efficient, and high-performing team. You demonstrate a high level of safety compliance and awareness, working in line with established processes and procedures.

To be successful, you must meet the following criteria:

Essential Requirements

  • Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician
  • Have experience in, or a sound understanding of, the construction and maintenance of Zone and Transmission Substation apparatus
  • Possess highly developed awareness of safety issues relating to work in a HV Substation environment
  • Have proven ability to work effectively in a small team environment
  • Be self-motivated and willing to undertake training as required
  • Class C Drivers Licence

Desirable Requirements

  • HR Licence
  • Crane Licence
  • Experience working in a HV environment
  • Advanced Diploma of Electrical Engineering

About Endeavour Energy (NSW)

Endeavour Energy is a safety focused and customer-centred business determined to be the best performing network in Australia.

Our people take great pride in being of service to our communities by efficiently distributing electricity to our customers in a way that is safe, reliable and sustainable.

We manage a $6.2 billion electricity distribution network serving more than a million connected customers, or 2.4 million people, living and working across 24,800 square kilometres in Sydney’s Greater West, the Blue Mountains, the Southern Highlands, Illawarra and the South Coast of NSW.

Our network powers Australia’s third largest economy, and includes Sydney’s North West and South West Priority Growth Centres, established in 2005 to house 500,000 new residents over 30 years in suburbs similar in size to Wollongong and Canberra.

The region is also home to Sydney’s proposed second airport.

We’re owned by an Australian-led consortium of institutional investors with world class experience in investing and managing regulated utilities across the globe.

The consortium has a clear objective to create long-term value by efficiently investing in Endeavour Energy’s assets to improve safety and customer outcomes.

The consortium acquired 50.4% ownership of the rights to manage Endeavour Energy’s network assets under a 99 year lease in June 2017. It’s led by Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets (MIRA), and includes AMP Capital, British Columbia Investment Management Corporation and Qatar Investment Authority.

The NSW Government retains a 49.6% interest and continues to licence safety and reliability.
