Job Description

Location: Columbus, OH

Talen Energy is seeking a Technologist to support the Client Services, Hosting, and Network teams within IT. This role is responsible for providing hands-on technical support on site at various locations supporting a broad range of technologies including but not limited to laptop/desktops, printers, servers, and networking equipment. Daily travel to various sites is required, with locations ranging from approximately 30 minutes to up to two hours from downtown Columbus. This role is perfect for individuals who appreciate engagingindiverse technologies and enjoy practical, hands-on tasks.

The Technologist will participate in an on-call rotation alongside other team members. The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PMand on occasion support for off hours depending on need.

  • Work in a team environment toimplement andsupport repeatable processes

  • Provide onsite IT support for end users in multiple locations

  • Provide support fordesktops/laptops,client-sideapplications,OS,serverand network technologies(Email, MS Office suite, Windows OS, softwaredeployment, printing, desktop/laptops,routers, switches,etc.)

  • Provide support forpatching andotherroutine maintenance tasks

  • Troubleshoot LAN/WAN connectivity issues and escalate when needed

  • Support VoIP systems, conference room technology, and networked devices

  • Deploy hardware, perform equipment moves, and maintain IT inventory

  • Build partnerships with internal customers and collaborate with vendors, consultants, andother IT personnel

  • Oral and written communications skills including the ability to communicate technical material clearly and effectively to different audiences

  • Collaboratewith other IT teams remotely to diagnose and fix issues.

  • Ability to lift and move equipment (typically 25–50lbs.)

What You Have

Minimum Requirements

AS in Computer Science, Math, Engineering or Other Technical Field; or 5 ormore years of relevant IT experience.

Additional Qualifications

  • Experience providing technical support and administration within a corporateenvironment

  • Experience with supporting Office 365suite of applications

  • Abilitytosupportvariousdesktop applications and softwareinstallations anddeployment

  • Demonstrate ability to diagnose and resolve hardware issues on endpoints, printers, and other IT-related equipment

  • Working knowledgeto diagnose and resolveMicrosoft Windows desktop Operating System platforms

  • Capacity to identify and assess problems, as well as suggest technical solutions to address business challenges

  • Experience working within an enterprise ticketing system is a plus
