Job Description

Mission Support and Test Services, LLC (MSTS) manages and operates the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS) for the U.S. National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). Our MISSION is to help ensure the security of the United States and its allies by providing high-hazard experimentation and incident response capabilities through operations, engineering, education, field, and integration services and by acting as environmental stewards to the Site’s Cold War legacy. Key Responsibilities

  • Operate in a professional teamwork-oriented environment interacting extensively with co-workers and management to deliver logistics support to mobile training teams in various cities across the nation.

  • Assist with the handling and disposition of equipment and materials, which involve shipping, transporting, storing, loading, and unloading.

  • Coordinate the packing, shipping and delivery of training materials.

  • Set-up and break down scenario-based, hands-on learning exercises for training classes. Set-up training venues at training sites and verify/troubleshoot equipment capability, and proper operation.

  • Execute tear down, and account for/ensure training props and equipment are shipped back to home location or to the next training venue.

  • Assist with inventory tracking of CTOS equipment.

  • Responsible for compliance with record keeping of own work.

  • Coordinate travel requirements to support project assignments and travel to mobile training sites.

  • Assist with vehicle fleet maintenance to include cleaning vehicles as required and transport for preventative/emerging requirements.

  • Adhere to federal, state and local transportation regulations as defined by the Department of Transportation.

  • Implement stop work authority in a responsible manner when safety conditions warrant.

  • Maintain training qualifications and attend onsite and offsite training as necessary to maintain competency to perform assigned duties. Must Maintain Advance Hazardous Material Shipper, IATA Shipper Certifications & CMV Certifications.

  • Perform other duties assigned by Management.

  • Associate degree in field related to the position plus at least 3 years’ progressive related experience or High School diploma plus 5 years’ progressive related experience.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment on a wide variety of tasks is critical.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and Outlook is required.
  • Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work well as an individual or in a team environment.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Basic knowledge of radiation protection principles is required.
  • Must Maintain Advance Hazardous Material Shipper, IATA Shipper Certifications & CMV Certifications.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instruction and follow through on all assignments.
  • The primary work location will be the CTOS New York Office on Long Island.

  • Part-Time Work scheduled as needed.
  • May be requested to perform on call work and must be able to work nonstandard hours when required.
  • Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
  • You must possess a valid driver’s license.

Ability to obtain a HSPD-12 Personal Identity Verification credential under the Department of Energy Order 206.2, ‘Identity, Credential, and Access Management,’ and Supplemental Directive NNSA SD 206.2, ‘Implementation of Personal Identity Verification for Uncleared Contractors.’

Hourly salary range for this position is: $29.98 - $44.97.

Starting salary is determined based on the position market value, the individual candidate education and experience and internal equity.
