Wood is currently recruiting Technicians to join our team based out of Upton, Wyoming, which is located near Gillette, Wyoming. The Technician serves as the essential labor force for the Upton Demonstration Plant. This role is focused on the physical execution of daily production tasks, material handling, and process sampling. As the "engine" of the site's manual operations, you will work closely with the lead technician to maintain 24/7 process flow. This position requires a "hands-on" mechanical aptitude for plant maintenance and piping construction to ensure the facility remains in peak operational condition. • Manual Labor & Material Loading: Execute the primary physical requirements of the plant, including the regular loading of raw materials and the manual movement of chemical sacks weighing 60+ lbs.
• Training & Skills Development: Actively participate in ongoing technical training, including radiation safety awareness, hazardous material handling, and equipment-specific certifications.
• Detail-Oriented Sampling: Must be highly detail-oriented when pulling samples and recording data. Precision in sampling is critical for the analytical lab to provide accurate feedback on plant performance.
• Piping & Infrastructure Support: Assist in the construction and repair of plant piping systems, specifically utilizing CPVC construction and poly pipe fusion techniques.
• Operational Support: Provide hands-on assistance to the Operating Lead; follow directions to adjust manual equipment and support plant control activities.
• Control Operations: Ability to learn and assist with plant controls when needed.
• Heavy Equipment Operation: Safely operate site machinery, including telehandlers, man-lifts, and skid steers.
• Safety & Chemical Handling: Adhere to strict safety standards while working with harsh chemicals (acids) and naturally occurring radioactive materials (NORM), following ALARA principles.

• Technical & Tool Knowledge: Strong general knowledge of hand and power tools. Practical experience with general piping in a plant setting, including CPVC construction and poly pipe fusion
• Attention to Detail: Ability to perform repetitive tasks with a high degree of accuracy and maintain clean, organized work areas and documentation.
• Critical Thinking: Must possess high common sense and logical thinking skills to troubleshoot issues on the fly and execute tasks efficiently.
• Physical Stamina: Must be capable of lifting 60+ lbs regularly and working at elevated heights using ladders or lifts with proper PPE.
• Shift Readiness: Willingness to work a swing schedule in a 24/7 industrial environment.
