In this hands-on position, you’ll apply a broad, multi-skilled approach across our track transit system and pods. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the reliability and performance of critical assets within a high-demand, fast-paced setting.

You’ll be responsible for delivering both planned and corrective maintenance, while also contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, project delivery, and asset replacement programmes that enhance operational efficiency and resilience.

Working within a forward-thinking and innovative environment, you’ll collaborate with a dedicated team focused on safety, performance, and excellence, supporting the seamless operation of one of the world’s busiest airports.

  • Delivering an exceptional passenger experience by maintaining and optimising Heathrow’s TTS assets.

  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records, including asset maintenance histories, to drive efficiency and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Demonstrating a strong commitment to safety by proactively identifying hazards, mitigating risks, and fostering a safe working environment for all.
  • Championing continuous improvement, promoting best practice and contributing to ongoing operational excellence.

You must hold a recognised multi-skilled, module-based NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) qualification, or a recognised indentured apprenticeship, in a relevant mechanical and electrical engineering discipline.

Examples include a Level 3 EAL or City & Guilds (C&G) NVQ in one of the following areas:

  • Rail maintenance (eg rolling stock, signalling)

Please note that standalone qualifications, such as BTECs or degrees, are not considered equivalent to a practically assessed NVQ. Therefore, they will not be accepted unless supported by a relevant NVQ qualification.

  • Full UK driving licence including the ability to obtain and maintain airside licences and permits.
  • Strong hands-on experience, gained within an engineering environment.
  • Analytical thinking and sound problem-solving skills.
