The purpose of this job is to provide first level technical support to SSC, all Pilot Flying J (PFJ) fueling locations and restaurants.

  1. Utilizing defined Service Desk processes and procedures, provide first level technical support to all PFJ fueling locations and restaurants including responding to store inquiries, analyzing and resolving problems with hardware and software and providing any additional assistance necessary to ensure the guest customer service
  2. Monitor system alerts to ensure PFJ sites are fueling 100% of the time and troubleshoot and resolve any fueling issues at store level
  3. Assist stores in researching credit card transactions and ensure payment has been processed; research and collect information for direct bill for failed transactions in order for PFJ to receive payment
  4. Assist with maintaining the integrity of store databases; ensure the site is processing sales data correctly; perform basic maintenance of the database if necessary
  5. First level support for Business Vertical software issue. Identify the issue, open incident, and escalate if needed.
  6. Troubleshoot hardware issues within stores and if necessary, once replacements have been received, assist stores with the installation of new hardware
  7. Assist stores and restaurants with point of sale hardware and software issues to ensure guest customer service; assist with diagnosis and correction of issues with back office computers and printers
  8. Monitor email requests for service and support
  9. Ensure all activities are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies and procedures
  10. Complete other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent certification required
  • Associate degree in technology preferred
  • One year Service Desk experience preferred

History

Founded by James Haslam II, the first Pilot gas station was opened in Gate City, Virginia, in 1958. After more than four decades of rapid growth, expansion and partnership, Pilot and Marathon Oil Company entered an agreement to form Pilot Travel Centers in 2001.

Over the years, Pilot Travel Centers experienced significant growth and expanded internationally, opening its first travel center in Canada in 2006. In 2007, Pilot bought Marathon Petroleum’s shares and entered a new partnership with CVC Capital Partner in 2008. Two years later, Pilot Travel Centers and Flying J Inc. entered an agreement, officially creating Pilot Flying J on July 1, 2010.
