Primary tasks and responsibilities:

• Upholds all ethical standards associated with safety, quality and food safety policies and procedures within the facility, including the TC Transcontinental Code of Conduct and values.
• Complies with all the standards that are followed in the TC Elgin plant, including, but not limited to-Health, Safety, Wellness (HSW), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Safe Quality Food (SQF), Continuous Improvement (CI) and any other processes established within the TC Elgin plant.
• Responsible for reporting all safety, quality, and food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
• Performs other duties as requested or assigned.

Specific Duties:

• Work with Production Supervisor to keep production quality up to standards.
• Assist in making sets of color standards in the QA Lab.
• Enter material requisition info in the stock traceability log.
• Support both the press and offline department.
• If necessary, test any materials required on the testing equipment in the lab.
• Work with the ink room techs to ensure the color is correct for new or existing jobs.
• File press cards, proofs, color standards and press retains as directed.
• Inspect incoming material.
• Review and approve raw material certificate of analysis
• Write concise reports on projects/issues to communicate to the QA Manager.
• Work with QA Manager to conduct environmental monitoring.
• Participate in internal and external audits as required.
• Participate in root cause analysis for customer complaints.

• Identify issues and problems within manufacturing and quality processes. Work with Supervisor/Manager to define and resolve problems, as well as recommend improvement processes.

Working Conditions:

• This job operates in a professional office and manufacturing environment.
• While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, and occasionally lift office products up to 50 pounds.
• This position may have minimal exposure to hazards such as dust, high noise levels, solvent fumes and medium heat on the production floor.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds with no assistance.
• Able to stand for shift in safety shoes.
• Able to grip with one or both hands.
• Flexibility in working hours.

QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES

Education / professional background

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Prior quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Prior experience either in printing or flexible manufacturing a plus.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft 365 program.
• Proficiency with measurement tools and inspection equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
• Bilingual in Spanish a plus
