Role:

This is a fully skilled position. Under the supervision of more experienced technicians or technical staff/engineers, perform various tasks related to established methods and processes. Work according to written instructions or general guidelines on equipment and systems of moderate to high complexity. Advise, guide, and train less experienced employees.

Responsabilities:

• Assemble or modify test models and experimental setups based on instructions from senior technical staff.
• Review technical drawings and may suggest improvements.
• Build special setups under the direction of senior technicians or technical staff.
• Research, recommend, and obtain parts or components for tests and test setups.
• Record data related to test or experiment results and prepare reports.
• Perform supervised tasks, including the installation, repair, testing, and maintenance of devices, subsystems, and systems.
• Participate, as needed, in the development of various test plans and procedures.
• Advise, guide, and train less experienced employees.
• Participate in preparing time and cost estimates while improving departmental productivity.
• Participate in the programming and commissioning of automated equipment sequences using the software provided.
• Perform work in accordance with internal procedures and in compliance with our occupational health and safety rules.
• Perform other related duties.

Assignment-Specific Tasks: Must be able to perform Level 9A tasks as well as the tasks listed below, as assigned.

Mechanical Technician:

• Perform tasks related to MGSE support.

Machinist:

• Estimate the time required to produce a part (programming and machining).
• Demonstrate versatility by being able to operate multiple types of machines.
• Program machining sequences using the software provided.

Alignment:

• Perform alignment or adjustment of subassemblies, flight assemblies, or tooling using high-precision equipment, based on theoretical values or guidelines provided by Engineering.
• Perform testing, troubleshooting, and alignment of devices, subsystems, and systems.
• Calibrate and/or characterize, as needed, the various tooling and/or flight components.

Qualification minimales requises :

• Possède les connaissances et l’expérience pertinente selon l’assignation.
• Scolarité: DEC ou l’équivalent en génie mécanique, aéronautique ou dans un domaine connexe selon l’assignation.
• Expérience: 5 à 10 ans d’expérience pertinente.
• Niveau de connaissances linguistiques: À l’aise en français parlé et écrit. Connaissance de l’anglais, un atout.

Additional qualifications depending on the assignment:

Machinist:

• In-depth knowledge of CAD/CAM software.
• In-depth knowledge of G-code CNC programming.
• Good knowledge of metrology.

Alignment:

• Good knowledge of CAD software.
• In-depth knowledge of Space Analyzer.
• In-depth knowledge of metrology.

Comments/Special Considerations:

Successful candidates must obtain and maintain a security clearance at the reliability level and pass the security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP).
