About this job:

Installs, repairs and performs skilled licensed maintenance on District HVAC systems (e.g., water and air cooled chillers, cooling towers, and roof top DX AHUs).

What You'll Do:

  • Attends training and completes journeyman program according to required hours
  • Troubleshoots and identifies repairs for refrigeration system and performs repairs or contracts out major chiller repairs; evacuates, reclaims or recycles refrigerant according to EPA guidelines
  • Repairs and installs HVAC equipment; installs HVAC systems, rigging heavy loads and coordinating with other shop staff; fabricates, repairs, and installs HVAC system fittings, registers, venting, pipe fittings
  • Diagnoses repairs; modifies and performs repairs using blueprints and schematics and considering building codes and standards
  • Prepares and cleans up job site, taking into consideration safety concerns of self and others, and disposes of waste and flammable materials
  • Calibrates and installs pneumatic, electrical, and electronic controls made by different manufacturers
  • Operates tools and equipment for combustion controls
  • Reviews work orders, prioritizes, and determine supplies for repair and purchases supplies using District purchase order system
  • Performs work and cross trains in at least one other trade, as an apprentice
  • Assists with snow removal efforts on a 24 hour on-call basis and responds to emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week



What You’ll Need:

  • High School Diploma or GED minimum
  • L2 (Journeyman): Four (4) years experience
  • Must have and maintain a valid Colorado Driver's License and meet District insurability standards.

  • Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us.
  • Have the ability with or without accommodations to meet the physical demands of the position.
