Microchip Technology in Colorado Springs is looking for an experienced Product Technician to join our Secure Computing Products Group.
Perform product setup activities related to NPI (New Product Introduction) and business unit projects
Assist Test and Product Engineering on debugging activities
Provide support to engineers for testing of wafer level and packaged ICs including: test data collection and analysis, yield/quality/capacity improvements
Support for NPI (New Product Introduction) includes: pilot lots, qualification lot runs, engineering lot management, Automatic Test and Bench verification and characterization, production setup qualification, alignment with operations team, and release to manufacturing
Support Quality Engineering for external audits. Create, schedule, and maintain records in accordance with internal specifications and audit requirements.
Failure analysis support by working with Product, Test, and Failure Analysis engineering
Read and understand schematics to create hardware fixturing for test capability
Ability to prioritize, schedule, and focus on multiple projects in parallel
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables
Perform additional tasks as directed by the manager.
Requirements/Qualifications:
At least 5-7 years of experience in a test technician position
Experience in electronics fundamentals and possess analytical skills
Good oral and written communication
Knowledgeable in MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.)
Team player and can work with minimum supervision
Basic knowledge in programming language such as C, or C++, and the ability to learn basic test program execution functions
Hands-on working experience in different Handling and Testing equipment (EG4090, Nextest, Rasco, Multitest, Exatron, Oscilloscopes, Digital Multi-Meter, etc.)
ASEE or equivalent education and experience
Capable of soldering components on boards
Must be able to organize, work independently, and be proactive
Ability to micro-probe a plus
