The Hardware Technician is responsible for providing desktop and laptop hardware support, asset management, equipment deployment, and technical assistance to end users across the organization. This role ensures that computer hardware, peripherals, mobile devices, and related equipment are properly configured, maintained, and supported to minimize downtime and deliver exceptional customer service. The Hardware Technician works closely with team members, coordinators, and management to support day-to-day operations, technology refresh projects, office moves, and hardware lifecycle management.
The Hardware Technician may be required to travel between office locations and work from offices other than their primary assigned location based on business needs. Additionally, the position may require occasional home visits to support remote employees, executives, or other authorized personnel in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Primary Responsibilities and/or Essential functions:

  • Provide hands-on support for desktop computers, laptops, docking stations, monitors, printers, mobile devices, and related peripherals.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Perform laptop and desktop deployments, replacements, upgrades, and refreshes.
  • Install, configure, and test hardware to ensure devices meet organizational standards.
  • Perform data backup, migration, and restoration activities during equipment replacements.
  • Maintain accurate asset inventory records and ensure proper asset tracking throughout the hardware lifecycle.
  • Assist with annual asset verification and periodic inventory audits.
  • Coordinate the collection, storage, redeployment, and disposal of hardware assets in accordance with company policies.
  • Support office relocations, workstation setups, conference room equipment installations, and departmental moves.
  • Document all work performed in the organization's ticketing system.
  • Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with users regarding technical issues and project updates.
  • Escalate complex technical issues when appropriate and collaborate with other IT teams to ensure resolution.
  • Participate in technology rollout projects, operating system migrations, and hardware refresh initiatives.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor while working with users, colleagues, vendors, and management.
  • Any additional responsibilities as required by management.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • 1-3+ Years of experience in Hardware.
  • Strong knowledge of desktop and laptop hardware platforms.
  • Experience supporting Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with Apple MacBook hardware and macOS environments.
  • Understanding of computer imaging, deployment tools, and endpoint management solutions.
  • Knowledge of hardware asset management principles and inventory control processes.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware, peripheral, and connectivity issues.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education/Certifications:

  • Required - High School Diploma or GED
  • Preferred - Two / Four year college degree or degree from Vocational Institute in related field of industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (engineering, mathematics, physics, etc.) a plus.
  • A+ certification or equivalent experience is desired


Estimated salary range is $75,000-$85,000. This position is bonus eligible. Compensation decisions within the range are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case including but not limited to the individual's skills, experience, and qualifications.
