Job Description

Gemma Services, located on a picturesque 36-acre campus in Plymouth Meeting, promotes safety and nonviolence while cultivating a caring environment in a diverse and inclusive environment. This full-time position is responsible for providing information technology support and training; coordinating work within the department, as well as with other departments; complying with operating policies and procedures established for the assigned function; communicating with appropriate personnel; responding to inquiries or requests for information; maintaining appropriate records and providing assigned reports.

  • Provides support for users as needed, including troubleshooting, hardware setup, and software installation.
  • Responds to user questions, issues, or problems and attempts to address and/or resolve them; ensures that user support questions and problems are handled in a professional and timely manner.
  • Documents IT issues and solutions in the Help Desk software.
  • Provides as-needed training for users on Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, the Internet, and various custom software.
  • Provides backup for the Systems Administrator, as directed, including performing system backups, configuring, and delivering systems, troubleshooting network and server outages, etc.

This position works on site and travels to several locations in the city of Philadelphia. Must have reliable transportation.

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour

Education/Training: A high school diploma or equivalent; specialized information technology education/training or certifications.

Skill(s): Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; proficient technical skills, including troubleshooting and knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Internet, and web technology; visual and auditory skills; ability to stand, stoop, bend, reach, climb, and lift items weighing 30 lbs. or less; valid driver’s license.

Experience: A minimum of one-year related experience normally required.
