This role is part of Alcon's Engineering function, a team focused on improving quality, processes, products, packaging and materials across our business to help deliver brilliant outcomes.
The Technician III, Repair & Maintenance Engineering, is primarily responsible for managing technical tasks in planning, designing, and implementing maintenance programs for facilities and equipment. You will be expected to build effective and meaningful relationships to coordinate maintenance work, review engineering specifications, and participate in equipment installation at our Manufacturing Facility in Houston, TX Specifics Include:
Perform advanced preventive and corrective maintenance on injection molding machines, including clamp systems, injection units, and hydraulic/electric components.
Reads and use schematics, manuals, technical drawings and diagnostic tools effectively.
Maintain and troubleshoot auxiliary equipment, including dryers, thermolator, Hot runner controllers, robots, EOAT, and material handling systems.
Clearly communicates issues, root causes, and repair status.
Documents work accurately in Maximo.
Collaborates with other departments operators, supervisors and engineers.
Strong troubleshooting skills with a logical, methodical approach, resolve issues quickly while minimizing downtime.
Proactively identifies potential issues before they become failures.
Participate in the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
Make decisions within the scope of your tasks, requiring advanced technical skills and problem-solving abilities.
Adhere to GxP regulations by strictly following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintaining accurate and complete documentation, ensuring rigorous quality control, and completing all required training.
Meet individual job requirements and contribute to the overall compliance of the organization, committing to continuous improvement and compliance with regulatory requirements.

High School Diploma or equivalent
The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
Work Hours: Friday - Sunday and every other Thursday, 4:45am-4:45pm
C - shift (12-hour shift)

PREFERRED:
Injection molding machine experienced.
Proven experience maintaining and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems.
Able to read schematics, manuals, and technical drawings.
Strong troubleshooting skills with a logical, methodical approach.
Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
Experience in industrial, manufacturing, facilities, or utilities environments
CMMS experience and basic computer skills.
