Provides technical support in the Wafer Fab area by performing routine and preventive maintenance on production ion implant equipment and by performing the following:

  • Able to complete PMs unassisted on assigned equipment
  • Capable of starting, stopping, and operating ion implant equipment within design limits.
  • Use technical skills to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues on assigned equipment.
  • Use technical skills to perform routine and preventive maintenance work on sub-assemblies and mainframe equipment in the ion implant area.
  • Will work independently and in a team environment when performing physically demanding technical tasks.
  • Apply appropriate mechanical techniques and established cleaning techniques to rebuild sub-assemblies and mainframe vacuum systems.
  • Use and maintain appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Set up, operate and interpret results of helium leak detection equipment.
  • Will assist senior technicians in verification testing of the equipment upon completion of the PM.
  • Utilize available training synopsis, materials, aids, timeliness and certification requirements to assist in meeting assigned personal improvement goals.
  • Will learn to utilize process measurement data from outside sources as measure of the quality of work performed in completing PM tasks.
  • Provides input to assist with development and optimization of equipment preventive maintenance schedules.

Shift: Modified 1st - Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, every other Friday (7am -7:12pm)

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • 3+ years’ work-related experience/training required
  • AS technical degree, electronics or Military electronics certificate preferred

Preferred skills and knowledge:

  • Practical knowledge and application of electronics, mechanics, vacuum theory, safety and clean room protocol, and IC Fabrication.
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills necessary to interact with systems used to monitor and update equipment status, update on-line checklists, GQS specifications, send e-mail, and obtain technical information related to equipment processing capabilities.
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting techniques and ability to learn the operational concepts of systems and how to perform diagnostic and troubleshooting techniques to solve more complex operational and system problems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, pneumatic diagrams, flow charts and cause and effect diagrams.
  • Ability to set up, operate and interpret output of test equipment to include, but not limited to oscilloscopes, digital volt-ohm meters, current and voltage sources and chart recorders.
  • Ability to learn and adhere to established company and departmental policies pertaining to day-to-day operations.
  • Teamwork/Customer Satisfaction: Works well with different teams across the organization. Demonstrates a willingness to support fellow technicians. Shares both experience and knowledge with coworkers. Ability to work toward common goals.

The hourly pay range for this position, which could be performed in the US, is $25-36/hr.*

*Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location, skills and experience.
