Built on a legacy of quality and innovation, we are seeking a Technician II - Fabrication to join our team and support our continued growth.

This role is responsible for creating and implementing innovative solutions to design, fabricate, and modify tools or processes that improve Safety, Quality, and operational efficiency. It requires a combination of creativity, practical craftsmanship, and sound judgment to deliver effective, high-quality results in a timely manner. As part of a collaborative and forward-thinking innovation team, this position helps bring ideas to life while working alongside individuals who are motivated to drive continuous improvement and meaningful change across the organization

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Fabricate, weld, or assemble custom workstations for the ease of assembly coolers and cooler parts.
  • Perform administrative tasks, including daily inventory cycle counts; responsibly request materials and follow up on incoming shipments; and support automation project installations and tooling build-outs.
  • Perform troubleshooting, repair and updates to equipment safety guards to ensure compliance.
  • Build job aids for manufacturing operations to promote ergonomic workstations.
  • Provide technical support during new product and process introductions.
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints and sketches.
  • Performs all duties safely and follow all Igloo safety rules.
  • Practices 5S daily and maintain a clean work area.
  • Other duties as assigned, including tasks such as painting that may require the use of respiratory protective equipment. Employees must be able to comply with all PPE and safety requirements, including maintaining a clean-shaven condition where required to ensure an effective respirator seal, unless a reasonable accommodation is approved

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications

A suitable background would be a solid experience within the following qualifications and experiences:

  • Education: Trade School Certificate or completion of an Apprenticeship.
  • Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of industrial maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment including welding and fabrication. Must be able to operate a sit-down forklift.
  • Must be fully bilingual in English and Spanish, with the ability to read, speak, and comprehend both languages.
  • Math skills: Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
  • Physical Demands: Manufacturing environment. Able to lift up to 60 lbs. stoop and bend.
  • Work environment: Warehouse is hot and humid in summer months, cold in winter months.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

To be successful in this role, we believe that you possess the following skills, competencies & characteristics:

  • Proficient in fabrication, with the ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings and blueprints.
  • Strong troubleshooting capabilities, including repair and rebuild of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems; highly detail-oriented.
  • Experience in material management and optimization, including inventory control and replenishment processes.
  • Knowledge of proper tooling use, maintenance, and care.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills; action-oriented and results-driven with strong technical aptitude.
  • Working knowledge of machine functions, with hands-on experience in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Welding experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with industrial products; trade school education and experience in plastic manufacturing are a plus.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately while also contributing creative solutions when needed.
  • Demonstrates a strong willingness to learn and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintains accurate data records with a high level of accountability.
  • Strong commitment to safety standards and practices.
  • Proven reliability and consistent performance.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to coordinate work efforts across teams and departments.

Standing & Walking
Roles may involve extended periods (up to 12 hours) of standing and walking, including moving at a brisk pace and occasional stair climbing.

Postural Requirements
Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and working in low or awkward positions during production or maintenance tasks.

Lifting & Material Handling

  • Operator-level roles may involve lifting up to 25 lb repeatedly throughout the shift.
  • Technician-level roles may involve lifting up to 50 lb multiple times per day, including overhead lifts.
  • Where possible, mechanical aids (e.g., hoists, forklifts) are used.

Fine Motor Skills & Tool Use
Use of both hands is required to operate tools, perform adjustments, and handle assembly materials with precision.

Visual Requirements
Sufficient visual acuity (e.g., 20/40 with or without correction) is necessary for tasks involving inspection and safe equipment operation.

Environmental Conditions

  • Work is performed in a production setting where seasonal temperatures may range from 100–120°F (with humidity) in summer to cooler conditions in winter.
  • High noise levels are common; hearing protection is provided and required.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as ear protection, safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, gloves, and protective clothing may be required depending on the task.

Additional Job Considerations
These roles can be physically demanding, involving repetitive motions and long hours. Technicians may be required to handle heavy molds and materials; use of material handling equipment is provided and encouraged.
