Purpose:
The Fischer Engineering Design Center invites applicants for a full-time Laboratory Technician who, under general supervision, performs a variety of clearly defined technical functions that support academic projects, academic teaching, and research operations in Zachry Labs. This is a highly demanding position that requires multitasking and continuous interaction with students. The ideal candidate would be capable of welding and teaching students of varying skill levels how to weld. Other areas of focus may include: Machining and Fabrication, CNC mills & lathes, water jet, wire EDM, welding, and other basic Machining/Fabrication shop equipment. The technician will work as part of a team. We are actively recruiting for a Level I, II, or III Technician.

About SuSu and Mark A. Fischer ’72 Engineering Design Center (FEDC)
The SuSu and Mark A. Fischer ’72 Engineering Design Center (FEDC) supports College of Engineering undergraduate academic course work. We provide academic, senior design, and capstone teams access to state-of-the art additive and subtractive manufacturing equipment, most tools needed to build their projects, consultations with professional staff, and build space to complete their projects. The FEDC service center also allows for faculty to have components made that assist their research.
