What you will do:

Johnson Controls is seeking a highly skilled and motivated HVAC Service Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will possess extensive experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems, ensuring optimal performance and customer satisfaction. This role demands a thorough understanding of HVAC technologies, exceptional troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently across a variety of environments, including commercial and residential settings.

How you will do it:

  • Perform comprehensive installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, heating systems, refrigeration units, and ventilation systems, ensuring compliance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
  • Conduct detailed inspections and diagnostics of HVAC systems to assess operational efficiency, identify potential problems, and implement corrective actions to mitigate downtime.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and control system failures, utilizing advanced diagnostic tools and techniques.
  • Execute routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and replacing filters, coils, and fans, as well as checking refrigerant levels and electrical connections to enhance system longevity and performance.
  • Provide expert recommendations to clients for system upgrades, repairs, and energy efficiency improvements, ensuring customer understanding of system functionalities and benefits.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations during installation and service operations to ensure a safe working environment for both the technician and the customer.
  • Respond promptly to service calls and emergencies, delivering timely and effective resolutions to HVAC-related issues while maintaining high levels of customer service.
  • Keep accurate and detailed records of service activities, including specifics of repairs performed, parts utilized, and time spent on each job for billing and tracking purposes.
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior technicians, sharing knowledge and best practices to foster a collaborative and skilled team environment.
  • Collaborate closely with sales and technical teams to ensure seamless service delivery and to identify opportunities for enhancing customer satisfaction.

What we look for

  • A minimum Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related fields with 3-5 years of proven experience as a Service Engineer specializing in HVAC systems or equivalent technical roles.
  • Extensive knowledge of HVAC equipment, systems, controls, and technologies, with a focus on best practices for installation and maintenance.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair HVAC systems and components efficiently and effectively.
  • Exceptional communication skills with a professional demeanor, capable of building rapport with customers and explaining technical concepts in an understandable manner.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver's license is required, with the ability to travel to various customer locations as needed.
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal safety regulations and codes related to HVAC installation and service.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to challenges.
