We are seeking an experienced Technician – Field Service to join our dynamic team based out of our coastal Bunbury branch, south of Perth in Western Australia. In this role, you will diagnose and complete repairs to Cummins engines and related components at customer sites, while also supporting workshop repairs and other Cummins branches as required.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Engage customers in a courteous and professional manner, anticipating needs and ensuring prompt, efficient service.

  • Diagnose and complete repairs to Cummins engines and related components at customer sites using specialised tools, documented procedures and policies.

  • Identify and prepare required parts and tools to complete repairs efficiently and to a high standard.

  • Perform preventative maintenance activities in line with documented schedules and standards on engines and related components in the field.

  • Escalate unresolved technical issues to more experienced Field Service Technicians and/or the Supervisor.

  • Complete required documentation, including service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims and quality documents, via handwritten forms or business system input screens.

  • Identify additional service opportunities with customers and support a positive customer experience.

  • Complete training in line with skill and business requirements.

  • Maintain the service vehicle and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.

  • Ensure adherence to all relevant Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures and legislation, reporting any issues or incidents to site management and your Supervisor.

  • Complete in-workshop repairs as required and provide support to other Cummins branches when needed.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • WA driver’s licence
  • Australian working rights
  • Mechanical trades qualified as Heavy Diesel Mechanic or Mobile Plant Mechanic or Light Vehicle with Heavy Diesel experience.
  • Cummins experience is not required however engine experience is desirable
  • Safety Focused and the ability to work effectively in a team environment

Additional Information:

  • Full Time / 38 hours per week
  • Overtime as required – Penalty rates paid for all work above 38 hours
  • On Call Roster 2:6 weeks
  • All your Safety equipment / PPE and uniforms are provided and laundered
  • Domestic Relocation from across Australia may be offered for the right candidate
  • Local Valid Drivers License is required

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Cert III) or equivalent
  • Basic level of workshop or field service experience required
  • Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products
  • Heavy Vehicle Experience preferred
  • HR License preferred

  • Engine Systems Interactions – Analyses electrical and mechanical system interactions to diagnose and repair effectively.
  • Product Repair & Maintenance – Completes quality repairs and maintenance in line with guidelines and standards.
  • Service Documentation – Accurately records customer, equipment, technical, and repair information.
  • Technical Escalation – Escalates complex issues appropriately and records troubleshooting activities.
