Technician
– Electrical Service Department

Job
Summary:
The
Technician will be responsible for creating,
installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical
equipment. The position holder will also be involved in delivering and
demonstrating new equipment to customers.

• 
  Work
  generally involves the setting up, installation, servicing, and repairing
  of Office equipment, computers, printers, UPS, appliances and other
  peripherals.
• 
  To assist the
  Service Manager in handling IBM Service contract calls, SITA Service
  calls.
• 
  Directly responsible
  for the delivery, set up and installations of all new equipment sold by
  the company such as copiers, computers, fridge, stove, washing machines
  etc. Also, demonstration of the new equipment to customers and the
  appropriate training of users of the new equipment.
• 
  To report on a daily
  basis to the Service Manager and or Shop Supervisor your observation of
  problems with machines in the field.
• 
  To prepare and
  submit daily summary work sheet to the ESD Administrative Assistant on a
  timely basis.
• 
  To assist at all
  times in the cleaning and organizing of the repair shop.
• 
  To assist in the
  cleaning of the vehicles used by the ESD and performing the daily routine
  check when using the vehicle for the first time for the day.
• 
  To assist the
  Service Manager as necessary in the ordering, maintenance, safeguarding
  and regular verification of all spare parts stored by the Repair Shop.
• 
  Responsible
  for the servicing of machines on service contract as outlined by the
  manager.
• 
  Refer to schematic
  drawings, product manuals, and troubleshooting guides in order to diagnose
  and repair problems.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and/or Experience

Successful
passes in at least 6 CXC subjects including English and Mathematics

·
Diploma
or certification in Electrical Engineering

·
1 to 2
years’ experience in electrical services

·
Microsoft
suite (especially Excel) competent

·
Oral
and written communication skills
