Job Shift: 1st ShiftThe C. I. Technician supports the C. I. Manager in executing the plant’s job certification and process training programs. This position is responsible for researching, documenting, and delivering task-specific training to plant operators, ensuring that standard operating procedures are accurate, effective, and consistently applied. The C. I. Technician also plays a key role in process improvement and problem-solving initiatives within the plant.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify and evaluate plant processes and positions to determine training needs and priorities.
- Research existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Method Operating Procedures (MOPs), and other documentation to verify and validate process accuracy.
- Develop, modify, and update SOPs and MOPs to reflect best practices and standardized methods.
- Partner with the Training Manager to create training matrices outlining priority positions and process tasks for certification planning.
- Develop Job Instructional Breakdowns (JIBDs) and corresponding training materials for specific job and process tasks.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to deliver hands-on and classroom training using JIBDs and supporting audiovisual materials.
- Serve as the certifying authority for employees completing jobs or process training.
- Conduct follow-up audits at scheduled intervals to ensure continued compliance with process standards.
- Maintain and update the database of SOPs, MOPs, POGs, JIBDs, and related documentation, as well as audit and training schedules.
- Work closely with line leaders and process owners to analyze and resolve production or process issues.
- Evaluate and implement procedural changes resulting from continuous improvement (CI) or problem-solving activities.
- Partner with leadership to standardize training and employee development practices across the plant.

QualificationsEducation and

Experience:
- Associate’s degree or higher preferred.
- Equivalent experience in training, technical writing, food production, or military service may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
- Experience in manufacturing or process operations is preferred.
- Proven experience delivering hands-on job-task training in an industrial or production setting.
Competencies and Skills:
- Strong technical writing skills with the ability to document detailed process procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, email, and electronic file management systems.
- Solid math skills, including the ability to calculate percentages, ratios, and interpret charts or graphs.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to collaborate effectively with multiple departments.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
- Ability to analyze process data and recommend improvements.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to stand on concrete floors for up to 4 hours at a time.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds over a distance of at least 50 feet.
- Must be able to work in refrigerated environments (approximately 50°F) for up to 4 hours at a time.

Work Environment and Personal Protective Equipment:
- Work is performed primarily in a food manufacturing facility, which may include exposure to cold temperatures, wet conditions, and moderate noise levels.
- Proper PPE must be worn at all times, including safety shoes, hairnets, gloves, hearing protection, and any other equipment as required by plant safety protocols.
- Occasional office work will be required for documentation and training preparation.

NOTE: This role will require extended hours based on production needs, including work to be performed after regular business hours and on weekends.
