The Opportunity:

As the Condition Monitoring Technician, you will play a key role in developing and embedding a proactive condition monitoring program that supports safe, reliable, and efficient processing plant operations. Your work will directly contribute to improved equipment reliability, reduced downtime, and long-term asset performance.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Undertake all work in a safe and efficient manner, in line with statutory requirements and Gold Fields policies and procedures
  • Develop and continuously improve the Condition Monitoring program, complementing proactive maintenance plans, tactics, and safe work instructions
  • Manage vibration analysis, lubrication, and thermography-based predictive maintenance programs, including on-site data collection, analysis, and recommendations for rotating equipment
  • Coordinate and manage specialist condition monitoring contractors
  • Collect, monitor, and analyse condition data from both rotating and fixed plant equipment to detect early-stage faults and proactively prevent equipment failures.
  • Support equipment reliability programs by taking part in root cause failure analyses and continuous improvement activities.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to improve equipment reliability, maintenance practices, and work procedures

About the Role:

  • Trade qualification or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
  • ISO 18436 Category II Certification in Vibration Analysis
  • Level 1 Thermography certification and experience in Ultrasonic testing
  • Mechanical trade background with a strong understanding of rotating and fixed plant equipment common to mineral processing operations
  • Experience in condition monitoring within mineral processing environments
  • Proficient in using Emerson AMS 2140 Analyzer and AMS Machine Familiarity with SAP or other CMMS platforms
