Position Summary:

Shimadzu is seeking a Technician to support the accurate configuration, testing, and quality control of gas chromatographs prior to customer delivery. This hands-on, bench-based role requires strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet custom configuration specs with minimal oversight.

JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Test and configure GC instruments to precise customer specifications
• Document repairs, parts usage, and defect resolution accurately
• Provide internal training and technical insights to team members as needed
• Travel occasionally for field support and system installations

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma with technical training in electronics; Associate degree preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a hands-on technical role (GC or similar systems ideal)
• Proficient in troubleshooting electronic and mechanical systems
• Familiar with quality assurance and test documentation standards
• Strong interpersonal communication and collaboration skills

Compensation & Benefits:

This exempt, full-time position offers a starting salary range of $61,000 to $63,000 annually, paid semi-monthly. Eligible benefits include a 401K matching program and discretionary yearly contributions, with detailed information provided at the final interview stage. Additional variable compensation may include a discretionary year-end bonus based on overall company performance.

In your first year, you will receive 10 paid vacation days, 8 paid personal days, 8 scheduled holidays, and 3 floating holidays. After one year, you’ll have access to a generous short-term disability program, with premiums fully covered by the company. Employees are insured at 100% of their salary for the first 6 weeks and 66 2/3% for weeks 7 to 12.
