Salary: FC6 £31,761.26 - £34,914.86

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Technician to join a forward-thinking school, working as part of a supportive team and contributing to the efficient day-to-day operation of the school.

  • We are looking for a highly skilled and committed Technician to provide an effective technical/maintenance service to all departments of the school and to work with external departments/agencies to ensure corporate and legislative policies are adhered to.
  • The role will involve preparing equipment, apparatus and materials such as electrical, chemical, living, teaching kits for use by teachers and pupils during classes in all departments as well as installing, commissioning and upgrading hardware, peripherals, software, and all networked IT devices in line with IT Services.

As a Technician, you will work under the direction and supervision of the Senior Technician.

Qualification, Registration and Skill Requirements

  • Educated to SCQF level 7 which includes Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Science, Information Technology (IT), Electrical or equivalent and 4 Standard Grades (at level 3 or above) or equivalent in Science subjects, English and Mathematics.
  • You are required to have good levels of interpersonal skills and abilities which will enable you to work as a member of a team to ensure positive outcomes for all children and young people.
  • Experience of working with minimum supervision in an environment of change and challenge, or within a school.

Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
