About the role

When product teams need user guides and other instructional content for the reagents, software, and instruments we sell, they collaborate with our

Technical Communications team.

We are looking for a Scientific and Technical Content Specialist who will gather and analyze technical and product information from scientists, software developers, engineers, product managers, regulatory specialists, and other team members, then turn it into clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation for our customers.

In this role, you will create content that makes our products easier to use and helps scientists reach their intended results. This is a great opportunity for someone with a scientific background who enjoys writing, has a strong attention to detail, and wants to contribute to products that support science, diagnostics, and healthcare worldwide.

Key responsibilities

  • Create technical end-user documentation for reagents, assays, and software products.

  • Develop content for products related to genetic analysis, biomarker discovery, predictive genomics, reproductive health, pathogen detection, disease-specific solutions, forensics, and human identification.

  • Gather, analyze, and clarify information from research scientists, product managers, hardware and software engineers, regulatory analysts, and other business team members.

  • Transform complex scientific and technical information into clear, concise, and accurate instructional content.

  • Organize content into topics and publications following DITA standards and department information models.

  • Collaborate with product development teams to keep projects moving within tight timelines.

  • Actively solicit input from product teams and participate in project team meetings.

  • Participate in sprint planning, setup, and retrospectives.

  • Estimate, schedule, and manage documentation projects.

  • Manage multiple writing projects or work streams simultaneously.

  • Provide feedback to product teams from an end-user perspective.

  • Learn and use XML-based authoring tools and content management systems, as well as additional authoring tools as needed.

  • Follow all process, style, quality, and brand guidelines.

  • Lead special documentation projects within the department as needed.

Experience and qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, life sciences, biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics, biotechnology, or a related field.

  • Advanced degree preferred.

  • Writing experience in a scientific environment or the life sciences industry.

  • Proven ability to understand and clearly communicate complex technical and scientific concepts.

  • Experience leading multiple projects or work streams, setting schedules, and managing priorities.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with topic-based authoring using DITA.

  • Experience with XML authoring tools.

  • Experience with Component Content Management Systems.

  • Knowledge of relevant style guides.

  • Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS markup languages.

  • Experience with graphic design tools.

  • Experience creating user guides, technical manuals, instructions for use, or product documentation.

Compensation

The monthly salary range estimated for this position based in Lithuania is €2 625,00–€3 937,50.
