Apple’s Music Apps team is looking for a passionate Technical Writer or Content Designer to drive customer-facing text experiences across our iOS and macOS applications. We are seeking a self-motivated individual who pairs excellent writing craft and hands-on music production expertise with deep experience leveraging Large Language Model (LLM) technologies to generate, iterate, and polish content.
In this role, you will be responsible for end-to-end user guidance, spanning Help deliverables, learning materials, instructional features, and in-app UX strings. The ideal candidate is self-organized and thrives in a dynamic team environment that demands high quality, creativity, and consistency.
Musical background/proficiency in music theory, sound design, or audio engineering is a strong bonus.
High attention to detail and the ability to balance multiple deliverables under tight deadlines.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across design, product, engineering, and localization teams to capture, refine, and verify technical details.
Degree in Technical Communication, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Information Design, Instructional Technologies,
Demonstrated professional experience in the music tech industry in a customer communication-focused position such as technical writing, UX writing/content design, or instructional design.
Proven ability to write clear, concise in-app UX strings and microcopy, step-by-step instructional guides, and comprehensive Help documentation.
Hands-on experience using generative AI tools, prompt engineering, and LLM-assisted pipelines to research, draft, edit, and scale high-quality, customer-facing content. Experience building or utilizing LLM tooling (such as RAG for automated terminology compliance, style checks, or ground truth generation) is a strong plus.
Deep knowledge of music production workflows on iOS and macOS, with hands-on experience in Apple’s music apps (Logic Pro, GarageBand, MainStage) strongly preferred.
Proficient in modern content management and version control systems (Git/SVN). Hands-on experience with structured text formats (Markdown, HTML/XML, JSON) is a plus.
