Technical Writer
As a Technical Writer, you will primarily work with engineers and wider stakeholders to create professional quality content users can trust. Your creations will represent the presentation of the company and its values to our customers. Using your strong ownership of responsibilities, time management, and adopting a results driven nature is essential to achieve our objectives across multi-disciplinary teams.
Responsibilities:
· Researching and gathering information from subject matter experts, understanding the needs of the target audience, and creating written content that is clear, concise, accurate and interesting to read
· Collaborating with cross-functional teams providing a key link between engineers, product managers, marketing associates, developer advocates, as well as client developers and users
· Using tools and technologies to create, manage, and publish documentation Documenting and improving processes, procedures, workflows
· Staying updated with industry trends, and continuously improving oneʼs skills to deliver high-quality documentation that helps users understand and effectively use our technical products or services
What we're looking for:
Must have skills
· Demonstrable experience in writing documentation for software, such as help instructions, user guides, release notes, and tutorials, according to accepted modern industry standards
· Experience in writing API documentation and references Outstanding attention to detail
· Experience in working in an agile and continuous integration development environment, following a ‘docs as codeʼ approach.
· I.E. Using a static site generator like Sphinx, Jekyll, MadCap Flare or to build the files locally through the command line (rather than using a commercial programs such as FrameMaker or Word)
· Experience with End Customer facing doc systems such as GitBook or Document 360
· Experience in defining or contributing to technical writing processes and style guides Experience in content structure and strategy
· Experience in managing tasks in JIRA
· Excellent communication skills, to people of all levels
Profile:
· Degree or certification in a relevant technical field or equivalent experience
